myspace activity

I don't know if you're aware of this, but I do maintain my myspace page and keep fresh songs coming and going all the time. It's not easy, because it's time consuming. Be grateful, dammit!

we find the bank... not guilty, your honor

I called my bank today. They were innocent. Actually, they have been compensating me secretly for some time now, one small transaction at a time. So all my money was back a long time ago. I've though I was super rich, but I was really just borrowing their money... Damn!

bank on that

A couple of months ago, some asshole started using my credit card for buying stuff online. I caught it when I was supposed to pay my bills and there was about SEK 12,000 missing. Well, I went to the bank, to the police, and then back to the bank. They gave me the same amount of money so I wouldn't be without fund while they conducted their investigation.

A couple of nights ago, the police called me. Fraud squad. They asked me again what had happened, then told me the probably would never find the guilty party and that they were closing the investigation. I kind of saw that coming.

Tonight, as I was about to sit down to pay my bills again, I got a letter from the bank. There was a note saying the bank's own investigation was finished. They had warned me that when the investigations was finished, they'd take back the money they'd given me before (the in the meantime money) and compensate me again. I thought that sounded stupid. Why give me money, take back the money and then give me the same money again? But hey, they know what they're doing, I guess. Except today they took that money back and despite the fact that I interpreted their note as "we believed you -expect money", I haven't received any new money.

So here I am, once more trying to pay my bills with no money. This time, though, I know who's got my money.

come fly with us at norwegian. or not.

Budget airline Norwegian stops passengers at the check in if they wish to fly to Dubai (Norwegian's prime destination) and have an Israeli stamp in their passport. Passengers are advised to get a new passport and rebook. The easiest way is, according to Norwegian, to get a temporary passport.

They also say that it's the passenger's responsibility to know which rules apply. They don't, however, mention this rule anywhere on their website where you book flights. In fact, this "rule" can't be found anywhere. When asked why the rule can't be found, the Spokesperson for Norwegian says that there are thousands of rules, and they can't possible publish all of them.

The "rule" is there to protect the passengers, who, according to Norwegian, wouldn't be allowed to enter the UAE with an Israeli stamp. At the UAE embassy, they clearly state that this is simply not true. No such rule exists.

There is, however, a very clear rule about temporary passports. If you hold one of those, you will not be allowed to enter the UAE.

Thank you, Norwegian.

sharing the sunday paper

the new thai, pt II

As I told you earlier, we went to the new Thai place in Liljeholmen yesterday. It's called Thai Rung and it's located where the Greek place used to be. The food was a little too tasty, I'm afraid. We might pick up food from there sometimes... Which is nice, of course, but costly in the long run. I liked it when the only food place within reach was the supremely crappy pizza place/bar in Nybohov. I can sense my wallet getting all sentimental just thinking about it.

the new thai

We are about to wake Pollington up. We're about to get dressed. We're about to go and meet Jonas at the new Thai restaurant in Liljeholmen (which opened yesterday). We're going to try to eat there. I'm going to tell you what it was like.

I hope I will love it. I might not.

forced entry

I don't have a lot to say today, but it's been a while since I last updated and I hate that. I have to set a good example for the next blogging generation.

If you're ever bored, go to Google and type "Why won't" and see what suggestions you get. The parrot one is as freaky as it is disgusting. Another favourite is "I'm scared of".

Oooh! I came up with something to write about! Kind of. Here goes:

I was thinking I should do my next blog entry au naturel, by which I mean I will not correct typos or proof read. It will be interesting. Well, for me, at least. Damn. This is one of those times when I think everything I write sucks. I think I once wrote something funny and now there's all this pressure for me to be funny all the time. LEAVE ME ALONE!

No! Don't! I can't stand being alone.

Ooh! I wrote a good song the other day. It's nice and I have lyrics and everything ready. I played it for Marta, and the conversation afterwards went like this:

M: -It's GREAT! Did you write that?
L: -Yes! It's good, right?
M: -I love it! Remember when I told you to write something like this?
L: -Yeah... You told me to wrote something good.
M: -Well, you finally listened to me!

Vilken bra reklam...

sleep is on me

When we put Pollington to bed, she usually cries a bit and we have to lift her up and carry her for a while to comfort her. Then we put her back to bed and she either falls asleep or we do it again. It's getting easier every night and it all takes 10-15 minutes. Basically, it's the time it takes for her to wind down and go to sleep.

Sometimes, the repetition and the crying can be trying, especially if there's something else you'd rather be doing. Either way, though, lifting your crying little girl from her crib and feeling her relax completely in your arms is the best feeling in the world. She feels calm and safe and you are her rock. Can't beat that.
