sports...

Listen, my friend. It's an athletic competition. It doesn't matter who you think is best - the real result is plain to see. But being the best is a temporary state. Next time someone else might be the best. It's nothing to argue about, especially since none of you did a single thing to influence the result. You did not win the game. You did not lose the game. A few guys played and won and a few others played and lost. Life goes on. Your pride, shame and anger is pathetic and misplaced. I know you need to belong somewhere and perhaps your team can replace the family you lost somewhere in society, but you need to take a step back and look at yourself. If the constructed group by which you define yourself needs conflicts with others to reward you with a sense of belonging then it may not be a good place for you.
